Tuesday January 4th 1944

Night battle,  our Destroyers sunk a Jap Destroyer and damaged another.

What fireworks when the Jap ship blew up.






Thursday January 5th 1944

Flight of Jap planes flew over our convoy,  boy,  I'm glad that there is no moon,  we would be toy ducks in a tub.
































Sunday January 9th 1944

Man,  what got  the Navy pilots up.  Only three planes tried to make it,  and did.

Crash into a British Battleship.

Went ashore
D-Day - H hour plus sixty minutes.

Were shelled on beach for last three days.




















Wednesday January 19th 1944

BANZAI!

And then they came.  Supported (illegible)

We held.

Last Joe Young,  he got it in the chest.  Cail got one ten yards to my right.  I guess that my names not up yet.  Damn near got it twice.  One by a split second.

















September 2nd 1944

First Sea (illigible) landing on Japan Island and made hike through Yokahama Bay,  what a mess our B29's did,  not a damn factory is standing.
